Summary

Blue Door was engaged to develop the brand identity for the iconic Gladstone House in Toronto. The new brand identity was to complement its sister property, The Broadview Hotel, while maintaining a unique personality. Our team was responsible for developing the core values, brand promises, mission statement, tagline, and visual identity for the flagship hotel.

The Goal

The ultimate goal was to reposition the Gladstone House as the city's next hub for food, art, and culture by developing an innovating, integrated and captivating new brand narrative and visual identity.

The Approach

Blue Door created a unified relationship between thesister properties by blending two well known and historic landmarks into each other to create one streamlined and relevant brand, without stifling their very unique and individual personalities. We revitalized and respected a historic brand, while breathing new life into it toallow for the hotel to remain an iconic pillar in the community.

Results

The rebranding of the Gladstone House was a critical component of its relaunch. The reintroduction of the brand was fundamental in how the audiences experienced the brand online and offline. Revitalizing the iconic Gladstone brand was foundational and the most important component in the launch's success because it had to exceed the expectations of Torontonians in a fully integrated approach, including social media, website, interior design, photography direction, and marketing material.
